Call for presentations for Cool Building Solutions for a Warming World workshop
The Heat Island Group at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) is collaborating with the broader urban heat island (UHI) countermeasures community to identify and assess UHI countermeasures (e.g., high-reflectance surfaces, wet surfaces, shading) and other passive building energy efficiency strategies (e.g., increased thermal mass or ventilation) that help individuals and cities adapt to extreme heat events.
Berkeley Lab convened the international working group of researchers and implementors in 2018 to
- understand the current state of science and implementation
- establish a set of standards for data collection
- connect members to foster collaboration
Berkeley Lab will host the first in-person meeting of the working group in Berkeley, California on 22 - 23 July 2019. To learn more, please visit: heatisland.lbl.gov/content/cool-building-solutions-warming-world
Registration is simple; just complete this online form. Registration will close on 19 June 2019.
